VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT - EXPORT SERVICES OFFICER

The Suriname Investment and Trade Agency (SITA) is at the forefront of strengthening Suriname’s economic position by attracting investment and expanding trade opportunities. The agency plays a central role in connecting Suriname to the global market while supporting the growth and competitiveness of local businesses.
In support of its expanding operations, SITA is seeking to recruit a qualified and motivated individual within the Trade Department for the position of
EXPORT SERVICES OFFICER.

The Export Services Officer will provide comprehensive support to the Trade Department, ensuring the development and delivery of export promotion services aimed at strengthening the international competitiveness of Suriname’s exporters. The role focuses on facilitating market access, providing export-related guidance and supporting the growth and diversification of Suriname’s export sectors.

Key Responsibilities
The candidate will be required to:
• Support the development and implementation of export promotion strategies and programmes
• Provide technical guidance and advisory services to exporters and export-ready companies
• Identify and facilitate access to international markets and business opportunities
• Coordinate and support participation in trade missions, fairs, and promotional events
• Liaise with relevant stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector, and international partners
• Conduct market research and prepare export market intelligence reports
• Support capacity-building initiatives for exporters
• Contribute to the development of export-related policies and frameworks
• Monitor and report on export promotion activities and outcomes
• Perform any other related duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in International Trade, Economics, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in export promotion, trade facilitation, international business, or a related area
• Proven experience working with exporters, trade promotion organizations, or international partners
• Strong knowledge of international trade practices and export procedures

Skills and Competencies
• Strong analytical and market research skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English and Dutch required)
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
• Good understanding of export documentation and trade regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
