The Republic of Suriname, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Business and International Cooperation, has received financing from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), toward the cost of the Foreign Investment and Export Promotion Program (FIEPP, project no. SU-L1056), and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.

The objective of this consultancy is to provide SITA and public stakeholders with a clearer understanding of the constraints and needs of both exporters and foreign investors in Suriname. The survey is expected to provide the wider stakeholders in Suriname, including policy makers, business support organizations (BSOs) and business with a barometer of business confidence in exporting and investment and track this over time to enable them to prioritize and address constraints to encourage and facilitate both exports and investments.

The consulting services (“the services”) include the following:

a comprehensive survey of foreign investors and existing exporters in Suriname twice in a 12-
month period combined with one exporter and one foreign investor focus group at a time to be
determined by SITA.

  • The results will be analyzed and prepared by the Consultant for easy dissemination and use
    across multiple platforms including full report and analysis, online barometer, infographics,
    press releases etc.
  • The Survey shall ensure adequate representation by sector, gender (woman owned or controlled),
    size and for exporters, identify specific social groups.
  • At all times, the Consultant will ensure they acknowledge clearly that the survey is being
    undertaken on behalf of SITA and brand materials accordingly.

The duration of the assignment is expected to last no more than twelve (12) months.
