VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT – INVESTMENT PROMOTION OFFICER

The Suriname Investment and Trade Agency (SITA) is at the forefront of strengthening Suriname’s economic position by attracting investment and expanding trade opportunities. The agency plays a central role in connecting Suriname to the global market while supporting the growth and competitiveness of local businesses.
In support of its expanding operations, SITA is seeking to recruit a qualified and motivated individual within the Investment Department for the position of
INVESTMENT PROMOTION OFFICER.

The Investment Promotion Officer will provide comprehensive support to the Investment Department with the attraction, facilitation and retention of investments in Suriname. The role focuses on identifying investment opportunities, engaging with potential investors and promoting Suriname as a competitive and attractive investment destination.

Key Responsibilities
The candidate will be required to:
• Provide administrative and operational support to the Director of Investment Promotion
• Support the development and implementation of investment promotion strategies and initiatives
• Identify and engage potential investors, both locally and internationally
• Provide information and guidance to investors on opportunities, procedures, and the investment climate
• Promote Suriname’s priority sectors and investment opportunities
• Coordinate and support investment missions, roadshows, and promotional events
• Liaise with relevant government agencies, private sector stakeholders, and development partners
• Prepare investment profiles, presentations, and promotional materials
• Conduct market research and prepare investment intelligence reports
• Support investor facilitation, including follow-up on inquiries and investment leads
• Contribute to the development of investment-related policies and frameworks
• Monitor and report on investment promotion activities and outcomes
• Perform any other related duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, International Relations, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in investment promotion, business development, international trade, or a related area
• Experience working with investors, government agencies, or international organizations
• Strong understanding of investment promotion, economic development, and investment facilitation

• Strong analytical and research skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English and Dutch required)
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills
• Good understanding of investment processes and economic development frameworks
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
