Description:
Work closely with all members of the team and provide support across our action plan to achieve results for the threefold mandate of the division: trade and export promotion, international business growth, and local linkages. The main purpose of this role is to identify barriers to exporting markets, devise prioritized solutions to those market access issues, and assist local companies with gaining access to those markets.

  • Outreach to exporters, and investors to monitor and identify the challenges faced by companies trying to access the regional and international market (e.g. local content requirements, customs clearance procedures, intellectual property issues, etc.).
  • Understand the scale and impact of those barriers, especially from an inclusive growth and sustainable development perspective, and understand the Governments’ motivations for introducing them.
  • Prioritize barriers and devise strategies to overcome them through a mixture of different instruments (lobbying, technical assistance, high-level interventions, etc.).
  • Feed into centrally run systems aiming to bring coherence into SITA’s work on Market Access barriers (the Digital Market Access Service).
  • Develop networks with key partners to get a deeper understanding of regulatory bodies overseas, having a bearing on trade and investment.
  • Submission of Monthly Reports.
  • Visibly support and champion the Agency’s goals and objectives.
  • Comply fully with the Agency’s policies and procedures, and adhere to the Agency’s Core Values and Charter of Business Ethics by daily demonstration of associated behavior.
  • Perform any other duties as required by the job function
