VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT - MARKETING OFFICER

The Suriname Investment and Trade Agency (SITA) is at the forefront of strengthening Suriname’s economic position by attracting investment and expanding trade opportunities. The agency plays a central role in connecting Suriname to the global market while supporting the growth and competitiveness of local businesses.
In support of its expanding operations, SITA is seeking to recruit a qualified and motivated individual within the Market Intelligence Department for the position of MARKETING OFFICER.

The Marketing Officer will provide comprehensive support with the development and implementation of marketing and communication strategies aimed at promoting Suriname as an investment destination and enhancing the visibility of SITA’s programmes, initiatives, and services.

Key Responsibilities
The candidate will be required to:
• Assist in the development and execution of marketing and communication plans
• Support the promotion of SITA’s programmes, including investment and export initiatives
• Create and manage content for digital platforms (website, social media, newsletters)
• Assist in organizing promotional events, campaigns, and outreach activities
• Conduct basic market research and support data collection and analysis
• Liaise with media, stakeholders, and partners for communication purposes
• Support the development of marketing materials (presentations, brochures, reports)
• Monitor and report on marketing activities and engagement metrics
• Perform any other related duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field
• Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in marketing, communications, or a related area
• Experience with digital marketing and content creation is an asset
• Experience within a corporate, government, or international organization is an advantage

Skills and Competencies
• Strong written and verbal communication skills (English and Dutch required)
• Creativity and ability to develop engaging content
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing tools
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
